gaop is the figment of the imagination of ron_zed (and his stage name).
It is a solo project that started under the moniker " the Green Art Of Plastic",  that was a relatively unknown band, due to the fact it was made up in the year 2003.
Tracks by the Green Art Of Plastic were handed around as demos and distributed to friends via the net.
After realizing that performing live is a great difficulty when pretending to be a bunch of people all together, the name g.a.o.p was taken, as the name of a solo project, starting where the green art died.
After a while it was changed to gaop, and it all grew from that point.

After meeting Konstantin Gervis from the label Zvukoprocessor, gaop and his friend dj Aboolele went to perform two shows as "gaop Vs. Aboolele", the first at the "Tzofe" club (15\1\04) alongside known names such as Antiochus, Acoustic Berries, Penetrating Crankshaft and dj Katyusha kid.

dj Katyusha kid was the one who arranged for gaop vs. Aboolele to perform at the kosmonaut club (24\3\04) alongside Panda Porn, Zax & Finkelstein and dj Katyusha kid himself.

Since that period gaop has released limited prints of compilations used mostly as demos.
While on the internet he has released the "moth ep", "less man ep", "negative rain transmissions", a live recording from the Korsmonaut show, and also appeared and was part of the "mockus" project. the "shtota kola" project, "angstrom", and appeared (and produced) all of the Aboolele recordings.
Also were on the web, was released material without proper titles, and a lot of novelty recordings.

Today, gaop is still very much alive, recording every whim, and trying to release material thru various labels.

As this is being written (01.02.05), I there are a few shows to be announced in the following three months.

Also, a new release : gaop – Der CD, a compilation of material that is being sold on shows, and used as a demo.
